Question 01 DS, constant OBC reboot required.

We have a 2001 DS Regen. Batteries were replaced in spring of 2015 and all was well until September. The cart started to loose power like it was low on charge. I charged the batteries and had no change in performance. I checked voltage across the pack, the reading was 50.7. The next day it wouldn't come on at all. With the season coming to an end I pulled the batteries and brought them home. Within a couple weeks I borrowed a car trailer and brought the cart home to put in the garage and work on over winter. I've had a lot of trouble finding reliable trouble shooting info for the cart. Most guides don't match the wire colors or switch configuration of our cart. I have learned that if I reboot the OBC the cart will operate fine for a while. If it then sits unused for a day or two it won't work. The last time I tried it I turned the key, put it in forward and stepped on the pedal; Nothing happened. I checked voltage across the batteries (50.76v) then I once again rebooted the OBC, put it in forward stepped on the pedal and took the dog for a ride down the street. I've been through so many different trouble shooting sequences, not sure which direction to turn. Don't want to guess and throw an OBC at it.

The best way to narrow it down is to put it on Reverse the next time the cart does not move.

If You hear the Reverse buzzer, it could be an MCOR problem, if do not hear the buzzer, it is definitely an OBC lockout.

If it is an OBC lockout, as long as the batteries are charging OK, You can by-pass the OBC lockout by jumping the Blue wire in the OBC harness to the White Wire.

Don't cut the wires since the OBC still needs the Tow/Run circuit (white wire), just strip some of the insulation and solder the wires together.

Sergio, will this procedure of hooking blue and white together, also apply to a 98 ds with a vlide?

Thanks for the info Sergio, the next time it's dead when I try it I'll run through these checks. Will bypassing the lock out effect the operation of the charger in any way?

It will not affect the actual charging, but the cart will be drive-able while the charger cord is plugged into the cart.

The procedure applies to Club Cars with Sepex motors and OBCs.
