Default Battery minimum under a load?

Hey guys – I have 6 8V batteries that are about three years old. My cart tends to sputter after about 15 minutes of use when lightly hitting the acceleration pedal. I tested all the batteries today and underload they run at 7.4 V. One battery runs at 6.7 V. Is that enough of a drop to cause this issue? Should I just replace the one battery for now?

Default Re: Battery minimum under a load?

Last week I was climbing a hill and I noticed the voltage drop to 44V. Got home and parked it and within a few minutes they recovered to 50.5. That's what you should be looking for, how fast they recover. Of course it was 30-40 degrees out that day. I'll bet in another few weeks all of these battery problems will go away. PS they were 6mo old Trojans.

The 6.7 v battery is near the 2v drop that indicates it's got a bad cell that is dropping out under load. Maybe look for a used replacement for that one
