Default Regen 2 PD Plus controller question

I purchased an Alltrax DCX600 IQ controller and will be getting the adapter and program for my Regen 2 cart. Can this be programmed for a stock motor or is 600 amps too much. I have 2 gauge cables but sounds like I would need a new selenoid? I already removed the other solenoid for the regen braking. Scottyb seems to be the expert on this stuff and I would be willing to purchase whatever I might need from him for his help. Thanks for any help.

600 amps is too much for the stock motor for sure. You also need to upgrade your solenoid.

Thanks TahoeDawgZ71. Yeah, I was hoping I could program the controller down and still use my stock motor. I won't have the funds to buy a new motor for a while. They aren't cheap. To help in my search are IQ and Regen 2 motors the same?

The GE IQ motors used in most DS IQs and early Precedent IQs were almost identical to the Regen 2 motor. They used a little different speed sensor but the internals of the motor were almost the same. I'm not familiar with the programming of the DCX. Someone who is more familiar with the DCX should be able to tell you more.
