Default 99 CC DS needs another upgraded speed control

My 99 CC DS has the following upgrades
Lift with 22" tires
New/8 month old 8v batteries NAPA (im a napa auto care shop)
HD FnR switch
Hand made by me 1/0 cables all ends soldered
DD motors 170-011-0002 11.2hp motor
DD motors 650a solenoid

Previous controller was a curtis 1204-410 that had the extra mosfets soldered in for higher current.
Ran the car a bit hard yesterday 1 mile wide open on flat road then a bit of hilly forest driving with moderate pedal never wide open. Came out of the woods and I heard the end plate pop off speed control then sounded like popcorn as controller self destroyed . I quickly removed the negative feed from battery bank.

I am confused and interested in what speed controls work best. I see the FSIP 700a GE controllers for 500 or is the alltrax the way to go?

I dont tow may have 4 adults and a cooler on it at the most.

Thanks in advance.
Jon

Either one is a great option. I've used both and love them both. The FSIP is adjustable with a screwdriver. The Alltrax is adjustable by a laptop computer. That may or may not matter to you, but the Alltrax software is free. You can't go wrong with either of these two controllers.
