Alltrax quit! Help
I have a club car DS IQ cart 48v, big lift big tires, I have a alltrax dcx 500, and plum quick bandit up grade, today it quit, the resistor(470) on the solenoid was super HOT, horrible burn smll. Now I have no power to my controller. If I pull the main battery+ cable off the smell goes away, as soon as I hook it up the resistor starts burning again. Again, no power to controller???? Any help?

Re: Alltrax quit! Help
Driving, full throttle,(30" tires) just realized my solenoid was a 200amp cont., 800amp peak. Could the solenoid failing affect my controller showing no power?

Re: Alltrax quit! Help
It certainly could. How bad does that cart bog down with those big tires? I bet that creates a lot of heat.

Re: Alltrax quit! Help
The cart runs good with them, 24mph, and pretty good torque, I'll be calling alltrax when they open this morning, hopefully they can point me in right direction for troubleshooting

Re: Alltrax quit! Help
30" tires
I predict the cart is never going to be real happy about that. Solenoid hot. 200a solenoid with 500a control is a mismatch. get a new 400a solenoid and see, it may fix it and you need it anyway. |

Re: Alltrax quit! Help
I believe the controller is shot, I am going to verify when I get home, my question is why? Would the solenoid failing/shorting result in killing my controller?

Re: Alltrax quit! Help
The solenoid would not cause the problem, the motor frying however would have taken the controller out.
You may want to test the motor prior to installing a new controller to make sure the windings are not all internally melted/shorted. |
