Push pedal to floor, cart doesn't engage for 25 seconds
2002 Club Car 48V Regen
When I push and hold the pedal to the floor, I can hear the MCOR switch...about 25-40 seconds later the cart will move. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Replaced the batteries and solenoid. It sill does it. Took MCOR off and tested it with an OHMS meter...it appears to be working fine. Don't know what's going on, but any help is appreciated. |

Does the solenoid activate immediately upon pushing the accelerator? |

Re: Push pedal to floor, cart doesn't engage for 25 seconds
How do you hear the MCOR switch or do you mean the solenoid click? What wires did you check on the MCOR to determine it was ok? The 2 wire pigtail is connected to a microswitch inside the MCOR that activates the solenoid, could be that microswitch is bad. Check the continuity of that 2 wire pigtail to make sure the micro switch is working correctly.

Re: Push pedal to floor, cart doesn't engage for 25 seconds
The solenoid clicks just before the cart starts rolling, it does not click immediately after pressing the pedal. I'll push the pedal, hear the MCOR switch as I'm pushing the pedal, sit and wait the 25-30 seconds and then hear the solenoid click and then the cart starts moving. I put a pigtail on each lead of the MCOR, turned the voltmeter to OHMS and my needle moved when I turned the MCOR with a screwdriver.

Your issue is the solenoid. The MCOR is simply a contact based device. Your solenoid is sticking most likely.

That's what I thought as well...but it's a brand new solenoid that was tested BEFORE I installed it (by a golf cart shop). And I took the old one back to verify it was still good...which it was. So, I threw away good money on a good solenoid.

Check your voltage being applied to the solenoid by connecting your voltmeter across the two small terminals. You should have 48 volts there almost instantaneously as you push the pedal.
