60v battery charger?
Looking to drop 2 more 6v batteries into my current 48v system to make a 60v total output but I am not finding many 60v chargers. Anyone know of a decent one with lead acid algorithm?

Re: 60v battery charger?
You had better check that your controller can handle the fully charged (>>60V) voltage. I went from 48V FLA to 56V Lithium and my stock controller lasted two days.

Re: 60v battery charger?
Also, I assume your other batteries are 8V. You need to match capacity on ALL batteries in series or you will have serious battery life problems. Most 6V are not same AH as 8V.

Re: 60v battery charger?
Yes I have a Curtis 1268 and it will handle 60v. I have a club car 252 which is a utility cart I converted for street use. It has space for 10 batteries and right now I am running 8 T-145's. I have been a golf course mechanic for 20 years so I know carts but there are not many 60v chargers out there and that is where my problem lies. Elcon makes one but that is the only one I know of and wanted to see if anyone else had any options.

Re: 60v battery charger?
Checked the spec sheet on my 1268 500 amp controller and it says 48 volt also...

Re: 60v battery charger?
I talked to the main tech at Bohlinger and he confirmed that they will do 60V. If you search around at the threads of guys running the Nissan Leaf lithium packs there is a few that have 1268's and they are 58V packs with no issues. If I heard it from anyone else I would be skeptical but Im sure you know the guy Im talking about. He is one of the few guys out there that sets program data for different motor combos with Curtis controls.

Re: 60v battery charger?
I have a leaf pack and it's MAX voltage is 58. A 60V FLA pack will max out way higher than 60V with a full charge. Maybe it will hold up but it will be stressed for sure at the higher voltage.
