Default 215/40-12 tires on a non-lifted Club Car DS

Will they rub or will it work? They are 18.8" if my math is right

I had the same question - the only information I could find was:

1.
Non site sponsor website that sells wheels + tire combos - google Golf Cart Tires STALKER (the name of the wheel) - they'll be near the top of the results - someone on their product detail page in teh reviews reported rubbing

2.
Some details on rubbing/no-rubbing in this thread:

My wheels arrived - hope this helps you out:

STI HD3's on Slasher GTX Sport 205/30-12
Measured with wheels sitting on flat ground with a bubble level across the top (wheels not on cart which may give a slightly higher reading) I get 18.625". If you do the math on 205-30/12's it should be 16.84", so they are almost 2" taller.
Most people report no rubbing with the 205-30/12's.

For reference my old CC Precedent OEM wheels (8"?) are 17.125" using the same measurement approach as above, but with the wheels still on the cart.

So I imagine 215/40-12's will sit higher than 18.625" off the ground and the 18.8" number (which should be right) may even be low?

Hope this helps - would be great if everyone could post actual tire heights, rub/no-rub, cart type, etc to make buying online easier. The place I purchased from listed the tire height at 17" - 1.5" off actual!

Matt

How did you measure it with such great accuracy? Down to three decimals. Here is a calculator.

Because 18 5/8" = 18.625".

Size calculators are great but the manufacturers don't always get it right. Especially the products that come from overseas.

2001 DS and 205/30/12 rubbed on the front slightly while turning.

You can buy 1" spacers that will move your tires out to prevent that but usually 12" low profile tires like that will fit without rubbing on all club cars.

FYI 14" wheels with low profile tires, ie....205-225/30-14 measure 21" high for anyone wondering if they will fit on a cart. Obviously if the 30 changes to a 40 then the height will increase.

The calculated size for a 205/30-14 is 18.8in. For a 225/30-14 it is 19.3 in.

Calculated must not take into consideration air values because I have a set of 225/30-14 and 205/30-14 and they are both at 21" with 25psi. I dont think your going to get 2" of air in there anyhow. I know how to do the calculations 225= 8.86 X 30= 2.658 side wall height, but we are talking golf cart tires that most are not even DOT rated. I have run into many an issue with tire sizes in the golf cart/course industry because non DOT tires are not regulated. OTR makes tires that they call 6 ply and are more flimsy then a 4 ply Carlisle of the same size. These companies basically call there tires what they want and there is no agency out there to call them on the untruth of what they are selling.

You've got to set a standard somewhere otherwise you would have to say the the height is between 15" to 22". That is also why I said calculated height.
