Speed reduced

I have a 2010 CC Precedent with 2012 batteries ( they are good ). Runs at 1/2 speed. Changed the mcor no change in speed. It passes the speed sensor test. Is there anything else to check?

Was anything done to cart recently? Did it just slow down to half speed?
Has it been setting unused?

Sat for 3 months with run tow set on tow. Nothing other than charge the batteries. Then the 1st time I used it, 1/2 speed.

Hate to jump on the bandwagon too soon here but I can't tell you how many times we hear "batteries are good" only to find that they are not...

4 year old batteries depending on how they have been treated may be in very poor shape....

What is your pack voltage resting and while in use?

Half speed or limp mode can happen when the controller has a fault such as "welded main" too...

Fully charged I have 50.1 volts across the pack. When operating the cart 48.2 volts

Eh, I have had plenty of batteries going bad and I have found them to lose ooomph gradually and not go from full-power to half-power in a couple of months. That's just me though. Believe me, I am a complete amateur compared to the guys here.

One observation, my cart ('03 Ds) also passed the speed sensor test in that the cart tried to stop itself when being pushed. Still, the symptoms were striking the way they pointed to the speed sensor, jack rabbit start like always then junk at 1/2 speed. I went ahead and replaced the speed sensor anyway and, voila, properly running cart. I don't know why it passed the test. I have a PQ motor on it but those have speed sensors too. Don't know. Don't care. It runs right now.

Lochlin I was curious about the speed sensor passing the test but could still be the problem.

You could try disconnecting the main pack (-) for 15 minutes to reset the OBC but I'm not sure if it resets the controller if it has a fault. For what they cost I'd replace the speed sender with one for site vendor David Hicks at http://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/

For what it's worth mine was the exact same situation. I parked the cart in the fall and it was running perfect. Took the thing out a couple of weeks ago and 1/2 speed. Don't know how something can go bad just sitting there but who knows. I have 6 carts (only the one CC though). I have seen all kind of weird stuff. I quit asking why years ago and just go with it now.
