I'm trying to install a 32 inch light bar on my 2012 club car not sure exactly what all I will need or if I would need to get another battery. I don't think I have room for another one and am not sure where I could put it if I did I have the 6 8v system any input would be appreciated thanks

You need one of these http://www.cartsunlimited.net/12v-reducer--.html to power your light bar as well as any other 12 volt goodies that you simply must have on your cart...

I would simply run a separate battery for stereo and light or lightS .. leave on when out for just music or extra lighting . and not worry bout running down the cart battery - for me every bit of juice when out counts .

Been down the separate battery battery path...Just one more thing to get p*ssed about when you go to ride and forgot to charge it. Do your self a favor and get the voltage reducer. Then you don't have to worry about keeping another one charged/maintenanced, you aren't going to run your pack down that much.

Does the voltage reducer make it run off my normal golf cart batteries?

Yes. You would hook the reducer up to the end of the pack and it will draw off of the entire pack as a whole. This will evenly distribute the load across all of your batteries.

It's very easy to install a seperate 12v battery for accessories and just as easy to add the onboard charger for it. It your cart has an on board charger for the pack it's very easy to tie the power cords together so your aux batt charges every time you charge the pack batteries. I have had and done both and I prefer the aux batt route. Sure it's obvious some people like the reducer route but weigh the options of both and decide for yourself
