Going to up cart to 54V and have a few questions
I have a 252 that I am going to add an extra 6V battery to make it more efficient and add more Ah. I should have a 54V nominal Elcon charger by Friday so I am going to get started today bypassing the OBC, adding new batteries and such but I have a few questions. First I added my own voltage reducer for accessories but there is a stock one somewhere but its not visible like most older electric carts as the "brick" that club car mounts on the frame that works through the negative side. And CC doesnt tap into individual batteries so no wires going between them. The front and rear lights are the only things powered by this mysterious reducer and they are both LED so they dont put out many amps, however I would still like to find out how this works by some chance that 54V nominal is too much for it. Second is bypassing the OBC, I have disconnected a few however I need to be sure controller is totally shut down as it will only take a max voltage of 60V and charging cycle at some point will be up into the mid 60V range. So with blue/white wires spliced, tow/run is still active and will isolate the controller from the pack? I know controller is normally inactive during charging but the OBC is part of that equation when its installed. With it uninstalled I need to be sure I can isolate the controller from the battery pack while its charging.
