Need Help Getting 2006 Club DS Moving
Hi
Hoping you all might be able to give me some pointers. I have a 2006 Club Car DS 12x4 48V cart. Over the last few months it would run perfectly, then start not running at all - you push the accelerator and hear the small click (reed switch?) under the floorboard but no louder click behind the seat. No forward, no reverse, no beep. Batteries are 52.5v, everything runs great when it runs - code 4, oversized tires, running up to 22mph etc. Reading the forums here I ordered a new solenoid and replaced it being careful to wire it properly. The cart ran fine for a few days, then started doing the same thing. Most of the time - nothing when you press the accelerator other than the faint click under the floorboard, every once in a while I hear the louder click in the back when i press the accelerator and everything works as it should. Do I have a bad replacement solenoid? Right now it is not doing anything so the once in a while running has gone to never running. I was going to order another solenoid but thought I would check with you all before I do. The cart is at a lake house right now so testing is something i will have to do once I am back with the cart. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This one is driving me crazy! Thanks. John |

It is probably something in the circuit that activates the solenoid. Could be the switch that you hear clicking in the pedal. Could be the controller. It is probably not the solenoid since you already replaced that.

My first SWAG (sophisticated wild *** guess) would be the MCOR. A 2006 should be new enough for a MCOR. Disconnect the two conductor plug at the MCOR and connect your ohmmeter to see if the sw is opening and closing. Did I understand you correctly when you stated that there is no reverse buzzer in reverse? If so my SWAG is out the window.

I agree. Sounds like a failed microswitch in the MCOR. The MCOR on the 2006 is no longer in production. Part number AM293101 MCOR4 conversion kit would be the correct replacement part for this cart.

Re: Need Help Getting 2006 Club DS Moving
Guys
Thank you very much for the quick replies. Two things - 1. I am hearing that micro switch near/inside the MCOR clicking (it is the only thing I hear when the cart goes dead on me). 2. I did do some work on the MCOR a couple of months back. I was getting no speed and read in the forums that the slack in the pedal was preventing the MCO from sending a full speed signal. I used some fuel hose to take out the slack at the pedal and the cart was like brand new! Did that maybe accelerate its demise too?! If these two pieces help solve the puzzle great! I noticed one post where mentioned the original MCOR no longer is available and a part number. If you think it might be the MCOR, where can I get the appropriate conversion? When I google it I get mostly all Precedent instead of DS. Thanks. John |

OK, did some looking around and noticed TahoeDawgZ71 is a parts dealer too. Sorry I missed that.
Do the two pieces of info in my post above help/hurt the assumption that we have an MCOR problem? |

If the problem isn't intermittent I would put an ohmmeter on the switch contacts to verify the problem. Or if it happens often enough to catch it happening. Just to be on the safe side I would remove the piece of tubing you installed and see if the problem goes away or changes.

One more thought but this isn't a SWAG it's an OTW (off the wall) suggestion. Do you suppose that with the hose adjustment of the MCOR linkage that you got the range off so much that the controller thinks that the throttle is depressed when you turn the key on. Giving you a HPD (high pedal disable) fault?

Jjance
Thanks for the ideas. I will test the hose piece when I am back with the cart. When it runs it runs fine with no issues, fast and slow, so I don't think the MCOR is throwing a bad signal. I ordered an MCOR conversion and will give that a try. Since the cart did the same "sometimes works, sometimes doesn't work" with two solenoids, I am going to give the MCOR a try. |

Re: Need Help Getting 2006 Club DS Moving
Got a chance to work on the cart (was out of town) and replaced the Mcore with one I got from TahoeDawg. Cart is now running again with no dying out so far! Acceleration is smoother as well. I am hopeful this was the ticket. Thanks to all for your comments and help!
