Club Car Charger not operating
2002 Club Car charger isn't operating. I had a battery go a week ago and burned out the positive terminial and had to replace the cable lug as well as the battery. I did a volt check on all the batterys and they all check out in the green using a analog mulitmeter execpt the one directly adjacent to the one which burned out that was in the red. The charger is a Club Car Power Drive computer controlled. There is a small switch in the bottom right cornor marked 15 amp which is stuck in the up position. I don't know if that means anything. Side note some of the terminials required water which I replinished. Any suggestions before it goes to the shop for what is always an expensive repair.
Appreciate the assist! |

Re: Club Car Charger not operating
Did a battery cable or something short out or did the cable just get hot and melt the terminal? Short = Bad, gettting hot = not so bad. Try charging the one dead battery first by itself. Can you get a picture of this switch?

The switch is in the bottom right cornor, see attached photo. As mentioned it says 15amp next to it and is stuck in the up position.

Re: Club Car Charger not operating
The switch isn't a switch to be flipped on/off, you flip it when it trips..
Which battery messed up on you.. If it was the main positive one you might of left the charger wire off.. |

Re: Club Car Charger not operating
Ok put a charge in one battery that was dead. Charger kicked on and cart now operating. Question after leaving charger on overnite can't seem to get it to go down past 4 amps to complete the charge. Any suggestions?

Re: Club Car Charger not operating
Define overnight, charger should trip off automatically after 16 hours (charged or not).
Remove charger , run cart for 15 minutes, then charge again (until it trips if reqired). New Batteries will require several charges to reach their Max. Buy a volt meter and chack Pack Voltage 1-2 Minutes after removing charger, Check again after running cart (before charging) and Post results. |
