Default 2004 Presedent electric

The cart will not move and when it is sitting in run mode the resistor overheats and I have replaced it 2 times to no avail..Is there a test to run to find out what is wrong? I am not getting a clicking and the batteries are charged up.

If the pre-charge resister is getting hot while just sitting their something down stream from it is having issue this could be either the controller or the motor itself. Motors are generally easy to check. Disconnect the main (-) battery cable first. Clearly label and then disconnect all cables from the motor and with a multi-meter set to ohms check each motor stud to the motor case if you find any reading other than an fully open circuit the motor is bad. Then test the big motor lugs to each other there you should see a full shorted circuit; do the same test with the small motor studs where you will also see a full shorted circuit. Test between big and little motor studs where you should see no circuit...

Teecro is correct. If the motor passes the test, replace the controller.
