Low batt warning
When i turn the key on. The battery shows full charge. My lights work great, buzzer for reverse is loud. When i put it in forward and give it gas it lurches forward just an inch and quits. Then low battery light comes on but charge lights show full. The cart had quit working. I put new FR switch wiring is correct. And now put new batteries and still does the same thing. Is it the computer or solenoid ???

Re: Low batt warning
What is your battery voltage at rest and while you are trying to get it to move?

Brand new batteries and solenoid, still the same. Put it in gear and give it gas and cart just bumps and quits

Re: Low batt warning
Assuming you have a "Series" drive system with a Lever operated F&R switch this is the test procedure you need to follow. If you have a Regen cart with a toggle/rocker style F&R switch, do not proceed.
Locate the solenoid. Locate the SMALL yellow wire attached to the solenoid coil post. It should be on a post all by itself. Be sure not to use the LARGE yellow wire as this is the main power circuit for the car and is not the wire necessary for this test. Get a small jumper wire a couple feet long with alligator clips on both ends. Clip one side to the post of the solenoid where the small yellow wire is located and clip the other end of the jumper wire to the main negative battery post OR the B- (negative) post of the controller with the large black wire. This bypasses the solenoid lockout feature of the on board computer. If the cart runs with the jumper in place, your computer has failed. Replacement part number for this OBC is 101800606. |
