2002 Electric Club Car Tail Light Problem

I have a 2002 Club Car and the driver side tail light is completely out. No brake light or running light. The other tail light is ok. I thought this may be a fuse issue but don't know where to locate the fuse if there is one.

Could it just be the bulb? Could be a corroded or broken connector too. I doubt you have a fuse for each side...

I switched the bulb with the other side and it worked perfectly, so I know it's not the bulb. The wires coming into the tail light look good but I will disconnect the tail light assembly and swap it out with the good one to see if it works. If not, problem solved otherwise I'll keep looking. I'm not very familiar with the wiring so I wasn't sure if each light had its own fuse or not.

I made the swap of tail light assemblies and sadly that didn't resolve the issue. Maybe someone else will have a thought about it, meanwhile I'll keep looking.

There is likely a fuse panel located behind the key switch panel. Probably a wire connection issue. inspect closely.

Yeah like tey said, I'd follow the wires now that you know it's not the bulb or the assembly. My last golf cart had a light kit with brake lights. The brake lights didn't work but the running lights did. I followed the wires and found a connector under the foot area had corroded... Shouldn't be too hard.

I doubt that the tail lights are separately fused. You probably have a broken connection somewhere. One place it could be is in the turn signal switch. Brake lights and turn signal lights are the same bulbs in the rear lights so the switching is done in the turn signal switch. That is where I would look for your problem.

It's not likely you will have a fuse for each taillight. you will probably have a separate fuse for taillights and turn signal.
When you have 1 light working and not the other 90% of the time it's a ground problem.
Carefully check your ground. I will first run a separate ground wire to the fixture to see if that solves the problem, if that doesn't do it, then check your connections. Usually the taillights are fed from 1 wire that is split to power both taillights. turn signals are fed from 2 different wires ,which is a direct connect from turn signal switch.
a taillight is powered is by 2 different hot wires, 1 for turn/stop and 1 for running and a ground .
so as you can see for a taillight to not function, it is either not getting voltage from 2 different circuits , which is unlikely, or you have a bad ground.
This comes from my experience with saltwater boat trailers.

There should be no ground in a light system on a cart. There is a negative but it's not a ground.
