Default 2004 Club Car Ds, battery question?

Hello, I have a 2004 Club Car DS. The cart has all the sudden been running much slower and for a shorter period of time. It has Energizer batteries currently from 2014. How do I determine if its the batteries and not something else. I can test the voltage of each battery after charge with my fluke, but i dont have the equipment to run under load.

I have noticed that I am having to add water more than usual.

help needed, since I dont want to have to buy new Trojan batteries unless I have too.

Assuming I have to buy batteries, which one does everyone suggest. My cart has a 6" control arm lift if that part matters.

You have a Fluke but you don't have set of clip on test leads so that you can get some under load battery pack voltage readings?

What is your pack and per battery voltage after charging and allowing the batteries to rest 8 to 12 hours?

Let me ask this then, how do I put load on and test. Apparently I don't know what you mean, I do have a Fluke.

Almost home and it's charged for at least 24 hours, I'll post voltage readings from battery leads

Easy as clipping lead to the battery posts and taking readings while you drive around, look for some hills to climb, add some friends to the cart... If you've got a bad battery or batteries your pack voltage will drop more than it should and/or may not recover well. A 48 volt cart should not drop below 42 volts during all but the heaviest of loads.

Each one is 8.1V after charge, and 49.7 total. But you can feel a difference in torque and speed is at 14-16 and use to be 19

Ok not to be nit picky here but your math don't add up here 8.1 x 6 = 48.6 and is like 55 % SOC or dang near dead.... But even at 49.7 volts you are barely 75 % SOC and should be somewhere closer to 50.9 volts fully charged or dang near 8.49 volts per battery...

Consider a battery EMPTY @ 8 volts and FULL @ 8.49

If you are fresh off the charger your relatively low cost 2 year old batteries are not long for this earth... Sorry!

I didn't buy them, I got the cart 2 years ago. Right after the previous owner bought them. No math, just reported what the meter said.

So if they are shot, which 8V batteries should I get?
Thanks

Trojan 875 or Crown CR-165 are your benchmark batteries...

Ok, I took some clip leads and drove the golf cart last week with the following results

1 Pos and 6 neg was 49.9 fresh off the charger (I know the math below doesn't equal the 49.9 when combined)

1 After charge: 8.17, driving 7.9
2 After charge: 8.23, driving 7.8
3 After charge: 8.27, driving 7.8
4 After charge: 8.3, driving 7.9
5 After charge: 8.25, driving 7.8
6 After charge: 8.17, driving 7.7

The chart was still way under achieving, sometimes stuttered and felt like small hills were impossible.

But the weirdest thing happened last night, my son asked if we could go for a ride and I noticed the cart was at 58.9 on the charger. So I took it off and started driving, its like its back to normal power. WTH?!? I am at a loss, I was 100% convinced it was the batteries, now I am worried it could be something else. Can anyone tell me if there are a few other things besides batteries that could cause this?
