Default 09 precedent 3 clicks before any movement??

I have a 2009 precedent ( PH), the dreaded year with that tps harness.

First off, i don't know if i look under the excel tps section or the excel mcor section?? This cart does have an mcor, but it also has that little tps box that adapts the wire harness from 1 connector, into 2 connectors. So what section of manual is it, mcor or tps?

Here is the issue. If starting from a complete stop, in forward, the only way to get it to move, is very slowly step on pedal, then you will hear 3 clicks from the solenoid. If you keep pushing very slowly on pedal, after the 3rd click, cart will move ok. If you stop on pedal hard, from a stop, cart will not go at all.

If you put it in reverse, from a stop, and step on pedal, the buzzer will cut out for a second, as you are stepping on the pedal. Again, as in forward, the cart will only go once in awhile.

So far this is what i have tried :

Removed the mcor2 from the pedal group2, and replaced with another new mcor2. NO Change.

Also replaced the mcor2 with a new mcor 3, No Change.

Also replaced the tps adaotor set up, with a new one ( fromTahoe), No Change.

Replaced the solenoid with a new solenoid, No Change.

Bypassed lite blue wire, with a jumper from solenoid to tps adaptor lite blue ( by passing the wiring), No Change.

Only thing left is the controller and wiring. I cut open the wiring harness, all wires look fine.

This is dangerous situation, as waiting in a line of carts, on an incline, when i release brake, the cart will roll back into the cart behind me.

Any ideas what to try?

Also, everytime i clear the faults from the scanner memory, and retry the cart, i get the HPD fault???

Maybe there is some confusement about the throttle type. I would think that you would only have one or the other, a MCOR or a TPS not both.

The reverse buzzer stopping could be an indication of the OBC being involved, specially if the cart rolls freely downhill when this happened.

Try by-passing the OBC lockout circuit (jumping the Blue and White wires at OBC 6-pin connector).

Also, make sure the pink wire on the Solenoid big post is on the battery side post.

Sergio -- Yes the pink wire is on the battery side of the solenoid, not the controller side.

And the reverse buzzer, only actually cuts out for a second or 2, I wouldn't say the buzzer stops.

I just checked the 3 resistors in the adaptor, and all are good, at 490ohms.

This cart has the adaptor that goes from 1 straight wire connector, and splits into 2 connectors that plugged onto a mcor2. So now i removed the mcor2, and installed an mcor3 ( i got from david), and had to also install the wire adaptor to go from tps adaptor to mcor 3.

What a weird crazy set up.

If you step on the pedal normal, it wont't go on forward , or click. If you push real slow and consistant on pedal, you will get 3 clicks from the solenoid, and it will then go in forward. If you do this, it will always go in forward, you just can't step on pedal fast or normal.

So as you are slowly pressing on pedal, brake releases and cart rolls backwards until after the 3rd click and cart kicks in??

JJance, i definately have an mcor, and this is a pedal group 2.

It has the adaptor that is shown in davids sticky on mcors. Maybe i am mistakingly calling it atps, because of this adaptor.

Ok another thought. You mentioned a HPD fault. Measure the resistance between the yellow and Green wires on the MCOR. It should be at least 5K ohms. If not the controller might be detecting that the throttle is pushed and shutting you down. And while you are in there check the micro switch make sure it's closing.

ok. i am willing to do this, no problem. But i need some clarification :

Can i do this with the controller removed?

Am i reading the resistance on the wires, or thru the mcor? I ask, because i have installed a new mcor.
