36 or 48 volt cart?

Do you want to know what you can buy new or what you can do to fix what you got.

It's a 48 volt.

I would buy something new for my buggy if it would upgrade my speed. Not necessarily interested in buying another one.

Sending your motor to Plumquick for a Bandit upgrade nets about a 25% increase in speed and torque so I am told. If you can find one, a stock 36 volt CC motor is a good thing to bolt right up to the transaxles on the 48 volt series carts like yours. This nets a 33% gain in speed and torque and makes the cart a fun little rig to drive. I did one a couple years ago and it's the most fun near-stock cart I've ever driven.

95 CC is a series drive cart. Here is just some of what I have written about upgrading these carts on my website;

A bigger speed control will allow the motor to access more amperage. The motor will use this additional amperage to make more torque which will help in the power department but it will not increase top end speed - more voltage will increase the stock motor rpm.
42v will increase motor RPM by 17.5%
48v will increase motor RPM by 33%.
You will have to upgrade the controller and solenoid in order to be able to run 48v. The stock motor can run on 48v.
Aftermarket motors built for more torque or more speed or a combination of both torque and speed are available.

Size matters:
Stock golf cart controllers range from 225 amps to 300 amps in size.
400 amps increases available amperage by about 25%
500 amps increases available amperage by about 40%
700 amps increases available amperage by about 60%

the upgrade from Scotty B is readily accomplished with routine tools and knowledge. I just copmleted the coversion from resistor to solid state using his kit. The instructions and harware were excellent. It took two evenings for me to complete.
