Default 2011 club car questions

first off I am looking at trying to get to around 20 mph with this cart. is doing the speed code the best way?

Also I am wanting to clean the battery area up. can I just wash it with a hose pipe or will that mess up controller and stuff?

Thanks

Description of cart needed. Stock tire size you would need controller or motor change for 20 mph. Lifted with 23" tires speed cod 4 should get you close.

As far a battery aera I use a water hose but use caution not to soak electronics's.

I'd remove the batteries if it is really bad and manually clean the area, not wetting the back aluminum plate, and any electronics you may have.

You can reprogram for around $100, or get a speed magnet for around $35 and get about the same speed, somewhere around 19mph. If your cart is an excel version the magnet won't work, you will need to look up the serial number to determine what you have.

it is stock at moment.. in a few month I am lifting and putting 23" tires on it.

it is a 48 volt, but will have to look up serial # when I get home to see exact model

Also, how would bigger tires make it easier to reach 20 mph, but with stock I would need controller or motor change?

Just trying to understand all of this

Thanks guys

Once you lift it, you will probably want to upgrade the electronics. That said, I ran mine for about a year on the stock electronics, and it did ok, but it's really not what CC designed these drive systems for. Hope this helps.

David Hicks at www.revolutiongolfcars.com will set you on the path...

With bigger (taller) tires you can generally gain a little top end in that each revolution takes you further than the stock height tires do; it will take a bit longer to do so as tall tires have weight and cost you a little torque in the same token of the extra speed...

With a stock controller, speed magnet and tires no taller than say 22" you will find yourself in the very low numbers of 20 MPH...
