Default 20" tires on Street Legal 2008 Precedent

I have a couple of questions which I haven't been able to get a straight answer. I recently purchased a 2008 CC Precedent converted for street legal use. It has 10" rims with the "standard" 18" tires. I am going to install a "Lo-Pro" 1" lift block in the front and put HD springs in the rear (It has the rear seating option with original springs and shocks). Everything I have read suggests putting on the HD springs in the rear.

Here are my questions; With the HD springs in the rear can I eliminate the shocks? More importantly with the 1" lift upfront and HD springs in rear can I run 20" tires on the 10" rims without a lot or no fender rubbing on the Precedent.

Thanks for your responses....

why would you want to eliminate the shocks? They are nothing more than a basic damper but you are better with them than without...

This one is easy.

My best advice would be to call David at Revolution Golf Cars (706-836-7210). When it comes to Club Cars nobody knows more about them than David and he carries what you need.

Slam dunk!

With heavy duty leaf spring on a stock cart ie no rear seat it will be like riding in a out of balance washing machine. Either get medium springs or remove the 4th leaf off of the HD springs. The shocks don't work well with HD springs so the rear end starts bouncing. BTW I got 205/65-10 tires on my street LSV. They are 20.5 inches. They only rub in the sharpest turns.

Thanks Jjance for your information... I do have the rear seat option with fold down cargo bed. So that should help with the ride. I have some "big" relatives that will be riding on the cart so I think the HD springs will be helpful.

I am also adding a 1" lift block to the front end so hopefully that will take care of the rubbing on sharp turns. I think that I will be Ok to order the 20" tires for my 10" alloy rims. That should also get me a couple of extra mph at the top.

I made my own 1/2" spacer for the front. It works great for my 205-65 tires.
I put my spacer above the plate on the frame side. I have HD rear springs, with 20 lbs air in tires the ride is just fine for me.
