MCOR to MCOR 4 conversion
I have a 2002 club Car IQ that needs a now MCOR. I was told that it needs a MCOR to MCOR4 conversion Kit, which includes a shaft, spring, and the new MCOR assy. Can I install these using jack stands to hold the front end up or is that too dangerous? I would have to crawl to the center of the under car to get to these parts so I feel a little uneasy about that. Has anyone done the conversion and had any problems? Any advice is welcome. I'd hate to invest $160 into a job and not be able to complete it.

Re: MCOR to MCOR 4 conversion
That's how I did mine. Right on my flatbed trailer. Easy job, 30 minutes. Be sure to put it in tow, take loose the battery leads and don't use a hammer.

Re: MCOR to MCOR 4 conversion
passthru is giving you the correct info. I did my daughters DS without the cart being on jack stands and it's not lifted, bone stock. It's not hard at all. Get your stuff from David at Revolution, he's a site sponsor. |

Re: MCOR to MCOR 4 conversion
Very simple jobDidn't needn't to jack up my '07cc. I already have a six inch lift installed. non-lifted carts will probably need to be jacked up though...use jack stands and block the tires. Don't depend solely on a floor jack Definitely get your parts from david at revolution carts I did!

Re: MCOR to MCOR 4 conversion
It looks like my 2002 floor is welded on, But it's really not a problem. I put the front end up on jack stands and I have enough room to get access to the parts. It doesn't look that difficult now that I have been able to get under there for a look. I ordered the conversion Kit today and will install it when it arrives.
Thanks, Bill |

Thanks guys....
Lakebit, your car is a Precedent, his is a DS. That's why there's such a difference. |

Re: MCOR to MCOR 4 conversion
No problem..... FYI, the Club Car DS and Precedent can both have the IQ system.

Re: MCOR to MCOR 4 conversion
Thanks guys, I installed the new MCOR4 and it appears to be working great! I'm soo glad that I did it instead of having someone else do it. You get that feeling of accomplishment and you save at lot of money.
One note. You must remember to remove the wheel chocks before backing out of the garage. :) Now I have to work on a way to make it go faster. |
