Default Who's gone brushless?

I've got a bit of experience with brushless motors in RC vehicles and the benefits are numerous in those. Better runtime, less heat, practically 0 motor maintenance. But understandably, a 3lb RC car is quite a different beast than an 800lb golf cart.
Mostly I'm wondering if a brushless motor & controller upgrade is worth it from a battery runtime standpoint.
Top speed im not concerned with, though a little extra pulling power up hills might be nice.
