Default Battery cables upgrade

I have a 2008 CCP, with 6 8volt batteries.I want to change factory battery cables over to 3.0 welding cables. Will I have any problems? Any helpfull
suggestions??

Since there really is no 3 gauge I assume you talking about 3/0 this is huge overkill, but if that's what you have on hand use it...

Standard is 6 gauge and good for 250 amps
4 gauge is generally plenty big enough for 500 amps
2 gauge is more than big enough for 700 amps
3/0 is bigger than all of the above

Your main concern will be flexibility...

I guess I am really wanting to know if I just change out the cables that link the 6 batteries will I receive any benifits?

You will want to replace all the large cables. That includes the cables between the batteries, to the solenoid and to the motor. You'll be wasting your time if you leave any of that out.

On an otherwise completely stock cart the improvement if any will be minimal but if the cables are old and internally corroded as they regularly are you may indeed notice better performance....

Do you still have the stock drive system, or is this an upgraded cart? Typically the largest wire gauge used on any cart is 2 gauge.
