I see I'm not the only one wanting to prop up their seat. I was thinking of using a fiberglass round electric fence post (1/2" dia) rotating hinge along back of well with a hanging clip. Lift seat up, pull rod out of hanging clip, rotate forward into pad mounted to seat bottom.

Scotty, send me a picture of what you did for some ideas.

Thanks
It's been many years ago, I'm not sure how this evolved. Part of something I found and part I adapted. But the pieces are simple and well, it aint pretty but it works for the Ezgo workhorse which has a very heavy seat and backrest combination. I hope this inspires you to make something better!

No problem! I just happened across it the other day so it was still fresh in my memory. I'm thinking about getting one too just for putting water in

That is sort of what I had in mind if I made something except I was going to use a small fiberglass rod. Looks like the one in the picture is metal? You weren't scared it would drop down on the batteries?

I do like the factory made piston which I will probably go for instead of trying to make one.

As for my preference for the seat up,, I'm anal retentive! Actually it probably makes no difference I just figure the gases that escape might me corrosive and I wanted it to breathe as much as possible.

PS: Scotty, thanks for posting the pics.

OK, when you get it can you post the length opened/closed and approximate diameter of the cylinder. I may have one that would work.
