where to land the motor leads terminals not marked
ok guys I got this 36 volt motor I am going to try this in my 2001 48 volt series cart. the terminals are not marked can someone tell me what wires are landed where?
Thanks the other motor I was looking at was a 16 spline and the wrong axle. this motor wont come off but is the right axle so I am going to swap it all. thanks |

Re: where to land the motor leads terminals not marked
You need to determine which terminals are Armature and which are Field. Then you can wire it correctly. At least figure out with an ohmmeter which terminal is paired with which. You will read continuity between the pairs but not between them.

Re: where to land the motor leads terminals not marked
Brushes are A1, A2, Magnets (coil actually) are S1, S2. There are no magnets in these motors - just electro-magnets.

Re: where to land the motor leads terminals not marked
ok I did find where they were marked I had to scrub it with some cleaner and the cleaner made it show right up.
I then tried taking the motor off and pulled the **** cover off the main shaft and windings nice right! I can not get the rest of it off the rear end. I know I can put it back together carefully just have to get the brushes depressed so the cover slides on or did I screw up the motor? How can I get it off the rear end? I was just hoping to check to see if it was 10 spline and it was easier to swap. if I can get it off and I can put it back together I will swap the whole rear end. any ideas how to get the insides off the rear end? or just put it back together? thanks |

Re: where to land the motor leads terminals not marked
You are going to drop the rear end 3-4 inches onto concrete, so the axle closest to the motor terminals hits the concrete first and the motor falls off. Trust me, this works. You may have to drop it 2 or 3 times but keep your feet clear. The motor will drop off like a boulder. I do it on the edge of the slab so the motor hits the grass not the concrete. GL

ok I saw this post http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...r-removal.html
I am going to try this hope I don't screw up the armature! I think I will wrap it in towels and tap it on so I don't hurt it. |
