Battery Question
Working on a cart with 6 new 6 volt batteries, charging with a known good working automatic 36 volt charger. Charger runs and runs and boils batteries, will not turn off. All batteries reach 7.8 volts except one which will only rise to 7.1 volts.
The question: is this battery bad? I am assuming so because it will not reach 2.5 volts per cell and I am also assuming it is the holdup in the charger not kicking off. Thanks in advance for any help, this is probably a dumb question but I want to be sure of what I'm doing before telling a man that one of his new batteries isn't up to snuff. |

Re: Battery Question
I'd say yes, it's bad. If all batteries are the same age and one is considerably weaker than the other 5, it's definitely an issue.

Re: Battery Question
Thanks David.
I suspected as much, just wanted to get a "second opinion" from someone else before going on. Haven't seen brand new batteries be bad before, but there's a first time for everything! |
