Default LED headlight illuminates with brake pedal

Hello everyone. First post on this site, but I belong to many online communties.

Just acquired a 2011 precedent from a local dealer. So far all is good and the dealer has been very accomodating in getting a few tweaks sorted out (he acquired the car already custom built/assembled and sold it to me).

I had him swap the halogen stock headlight bar for an LED upgrade (apparently ALL tail lights are already LED), and I noticed tonight that the headlight bar dimly, but obviously illuminates with the brake pedal being pressed.

Is this typical? Seems very odd to me.

Thanks for the awesome forum. Looking forward to being here as I endeavour into this new hobby!

The tail lights are crossed with the brake lights, back feeding to head lights.

I have a Precedent with the LED headlight and turn signals. When the turn signal is on the headlight also blinks very dimly, I didn't hook up the break light switch yet.

Sometimes an LED light will get put-in wrong...you can try rotating the bulb or double check to make sure the lights are both wired the same way...sometime instead of black for ground it could be white is ground...this can be a feedback problem and of course if the headlights are wired into the turn-signals that would do also...but I have seen this issue when all the wiring is totally correct so check the bulbs and maybe flip one over at a time to see if this corrects the feedback...

Guys,

Thanks for the tips. I'm the dealer he's referring to. I sold him the cart. I've checked the taillight wires as you guys suggested and everything appears to be correct. Ground to ground, headlights/running lights turn the taillights on dim and brake lights are brighter. Turn signals function normally. I purchased this rebuilt Precedent from a wholesaler and tweaked a few things on it before I sold it. It originally had a halogen light on the front and everything worked fine. When I swapped it with the LED, I didn't change the Instrument Panel harness, I just swapped the front fixture. Do you think there's an extra resistor or a diode in the I.P. harness for the LED lights? Was planning on swapping the IP Harness tomorrow to see if it would help.

Some times the ground on the socket itself will fail under load and the bulb seeks ground through the other circuit. At least some of the Eighties GM cars that use the 1157 bulb/socket would do that,...
moisture and slight rust inside the socket,..

I'll un-plug the tail lights and hook the wires up to individual bulbs and see if it makes a difference. Might just need to put some different tail lights on it.

I didn't hook up the brake lights, everything is plug and play, I think it getting some electrical feedback, just enough to make the headlights glow very dimly, it's hard to see but it's there. First I thought some wires were wet, it doesn't take much to get a led to glow, buts it's been doing it for about a year.

I did the same thing, swapped out a halogen for a led, same problem.
