81 club car, no fwd or reverse- should all solonoids be working
I've lost forward and reverse , new batteries, new micro switch on fwd/Rev switch, installed 5 new solonoids.. it was working till I installed a battery meter, key switch wire melted. My question is" it might be dumb question, do all 5 solonoids need to work to go fwd or reverse" . My driver side solonoid, has no voltage between the tiny little posts when pedal is applied.Others have 37.1 volts... wouldn't I just loose that speed instead of a no go situation? Does anyone have a pic of what the voltage should be at each of the 5 solonoids, or between posts, I'm a picture diagram guy , or is my 36 volt motor now an anchor.

Re: 81 club car, no fwd or reverse- should all solonoids be working
You need the Driver's Side solenoid and at least one of the other 4 solenoids ON in order for those carts to work.
Since all of the solenoids get their positive activation from the same source, the most likely scenario is that you blew up the first micro-switch in the speed control box. Remember those carts have a negative key switch wiring, so here is how to properly connect the voltage meter on those carts. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/attac...oid_wiring.jpg |
