Most likely all the batteries are not in the system. Also the small red wire on battery number one is likely not hooked up. You charged the batteries before you tried to drive cart didn't you. What is the total voltage of your batteries. If you post a photo of the batteries we can tell a lot from the photo.

The red wire he is referring to is the one from the back of the charger receptacle to "Pack Positive" battery post, which is the one that has the cable that goes to the solenoid.

It does sound like Your batteries may not be connected correctly to the charger if you are only measuring 48v.

You can set your meter to 20vDC and measure each battery individually, post the results as they will indicate the charging status.

Are the colors of the wires on the replacement speed sensor blue, black, and red? The cheap replacement speed sensors are made in China and have a bad track record. Don't expect that one to last. Your best bet would be to get an OEM Club Car replacement, with green, red, and black wires

I wonder if those speed sensors were not really designed for Club Car.

While other cart manufacturers use the same motor, Club Car powers their sensors with 15v instead of 5v like the Yamaha.

There are different voltage range specifications for those Hall Effect chips, perhaps those "universal" sensors use one not compatible with the higher supply voltage.

I never even thought of that. That is a very good possibility. Put the cheap 5v "Universal" sensor in a CC with the 15v power source, over volt it, and burn it up

If you put a $26 knock off sensor on it, expect it to happen again soon. There are sponsors and other members here that sell proper parts. It's your choice if you decide to get it elsewhere, but it would be respectful of the sponsors not to post the details.
