99 DS resistor cart questions
I just recently acquired a 99 DS 36v resistor cart. It hasn't ran for a few years so the batteries are shot. I thought it might at least kick a charger on but no. When I plug the charger in, it doesn't even activate a test light when I touched the receptacle
Should the charger plug show power to the test light? I'm wondering if my charger is shot... Can I hook it up to my buddies 48v club car to test it? |

Re: 99 DS resistor cart questions
Assuming there is distilled water in each cell - its easy to find an auto charger that will charge 6v/12v. You can charge each of them individually without unhooking any of them - especially on the 6v setting. The 48v charger is very high risk. Don't do it! you risk damaging yourself (boom) and/or that charger. Might take a few days - but an auto charger is safe to attempt. The odds of them surviving two years of abandonment in decent health are minuscule, however. After they all show/hold 6v you can then further diagnose the charger.
