Battery Watering Systems (SPWS)
I got this reply to an e-mail I sent to Pro-Fill. I sent them a question when my system began to leak on refill.
It’s very possible that the valves are damaged from the old batteries and that the internal seals are not functioning correctly due to build up or corrosion from over the years and also the Displacer or “float” at the bottom is not allowing the valve to correctly stop and therefore you are getting overflow. That could happen if you’re not using the proper watering supply or leaving the watering system unattended. Also if you’re not getting the proper PSI or water flow problems could occur. One rule of thumb is if you get new batteries you should get a new watering system as well. Being that the system is 5 years old that is actually the recommendation on swapping out the watering system, every 5 years or as needed. I buy my parts from..http://www.powrparts.com/flow-ritegolfcartwatering.aspx A new system is 129.00 much cheaper than individual valves @ 7.95 x 24. |

Re: Battery Watering Systems (SPWS)
Don't waste your money on a watering system. Do it the old fashioned way.

Re: Battery Watering Systems (SPWS)
I agree. I've seen far too many valves stick on SPWS resulting in the entire battery failing. People think they're watering them, but they're really not and you don't know it until it's too late.

Re: Battery Watering Systems (SPWS)
I have tried three different watering systems. The best, which also happens to be the fastest, cheapest and most accurate, is a long skinny funnel.

Re: Battery Watering Systems (SPWS)
I was going to get one of them huge hypodermic marinade injectors soon, seems like that would be totally idiot proof and very easy to use...

Had this a very long time. Works great. Thing is, I can't remember where I got it.

Re: Battery Watering Systems (SPWS)
I use a ketchup dispenser I picked up at the grocery store. It keeps most of the water going where I want it to. I'm using 4 X 12's and I usually fill the dispenser up twice before I'm finished.

Re: Battery Watering Systems (SPWS)
I know most of the users here don't like the SPWS systems used on the carts. But on most of the new carts I have seen ( Sun City) here they are all coming with some type of SPWS. I just posted as a reminder that you still need to pay attention when filling your batteries. Nothing is perfect, not even a turkey baster.
