Default Brake light

My new to me Gaser 05 precedent has brake lights. They stay on as long as the brake pedal is pressed. Is this normal for this cart. Should it have a timer that may not be working.?

Key ON or Key OFF? When I bought mine it came with a brake light/turn signal kit that never worked; it did have a small cubish devise that looked like a timer near the brake switch. Finally I got the builder to send me a new turn signal/brake kit which was a different brand but least it got the signals to work... Anyway I didn't use the thing I think was a timer to which with key ON my brake lights stay on, key OFF and no brake lights.... If you have a timer it would likely be down under the floor mat nearest to the brake adjustment rod and/or brake light switch....

my old set up had 2 brake light switches. one underneath that turned the lights on when you pressed the pedal ( and stayed on as long as pedal was pressed) then the 2nd one was behind the pedal itself were a rod pushed the switch off when using the parking brake.

my old style set up is here : http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...-switches.html

There should be a timer with the switch. It is a Sqaure black box near the switch assembly. This tells the brakes to stay on for 30 seconds maximum then cuts them off regardless of pedal is pressed. This way you can engage the parking brake and not worry about the lights always being on.

I think they require a torx 40 size bit. Any kit with a 15-45 bit set will suffice to open most any torx screw on the cart. I know it is either a 30,35,or40.

Thanks, I didn't know if they sold them in sets or what.

I've never needed any that large before.

Update, update. I cannot remember how many times I have told people to read the manual, read the manual. Well I finally read the manual on this cart, guess what. It says when applying park brake the brake lights will stay on for up to 4 minutes, mine went off after 3 1/2 minutes.
