Default Volt meter

Afternoon all,

Trying to hook up a led bar style volt meter in a 36 volt 1985 club car ds. The drawing I have shows the positive and common coming off the key switch. And then the negative going back to ground. This was bought as a 36 volt meter so I would think I want to span the entire bank of batteries. I've tried that and it shows one bar near full but it never moves down the scale as I was the cart. Any ideas how I can hook this up on a separate switch. The switches I have are lite and run off 12 volts thanks for the help

I would highly recommend against using a bar style meter, as they are inaccurate and don't always work right. I would use a digital meter, like the ones here: http://www.cartsunlimited.net/battery-led-meters.html

there should be full pack voltage at the key switch . positive to the on side of switch and run neg back the pack main negative , or you can run them both to the pack positive and negative and meter will be on at all times .

Get yourself a good digital meter like Scottyb sells. Much more useful information.

Absolutely and wire it direct if you want as it does not draw enough juice to even bother with turning it off....
