Default Batteries don't completely charge

I have a Club Car DS 1989 36v with a power wise charger and when charging it can never get all the way to 0 on the meter. It's usually a little before it. Why?

Meter on the charger? How old are the batteries? How well maintained are the batteries, ever run them low on water etc? After the charger is shut down and batteries are rested 8 to 12 hours what is the voltage per battery? An old charger may not put out enough voltage to fully charge the batteries. A 36 volt charger needs to output as much as 49 volts to fully charge the batteries...

Batteries are around two and a half years old. I check the water once a week, have never been low as far as I know. I'll have to check the voltage after charging tomorrow.

Yeah I believe mine only goes up to 20amps because the meter starts at 20 and ends at 0.

Measure the voltage on the full pack in the middle of the charge several times. It should easily be in or close to the mid to upper 40's in volts.

That's the AMP gauge on the charger we are speaking about measuring the VOLTAGE at the batteries to judge the depth of charge...

Yeah okay. I'll get a few readings today when I charge it.

Every battery reads 6.4 volts since the last charge which was a few days ago. I will get readings mid charge hopefully tomorrow sometime.

That's a full 100 % charge then.....

If you are not smelling "rotten egg" while charging, need to add water frequently and/or having out gassing (puddles of water on batter) issues I'd say that you have no issues worth worrying about...
