88ds will bad resistor coils stop the cart from running.

I have an 88 ds. New motor,new solenoid, new v-glide, new batteries, after I Installed batteries and charged the cart ran good for 20 minutes then slowly died. The only thing left to change is theF/R switch (but cart stills goes back an forward). And the coils. Witch is a little confusing because the 88 wiring diagram showed 5 coils and I have 6. So my question is would bad coils/coil stop the cart from running (still runs but has very little power)?

Yes one bad coil will slow the cart down.. Check the coils see if one is burnt and broken or wire melted, If you go above a plan stock motor, it will always cause problems with coil set up.

Just ordered the 6 coils and I'm going to replace all of them tomorrow there only 27years old. The motor is new but stock. And the coils look burnt but not broken. No melted wires.?

Be sure to clean all of the connections going to the solenoids...that systems sucks for hot, bad connections.🌞
