Default 96 series throttle problem

I read all the MCOR info but I believe this cart has a throttle switch. Cart runs forward and reverse very slow reguardless of throttle position. I need troubleshooting advise and fix info. Thanks in advance Dave

On the speed controller look for yellow and green wire. Unplug those and ohm them with ohm meter, should read 5k - 0 ohm . 5k peddle up, 0 peddle down. The 96 carts have the CVP or vglide for a potentiometer. V glide is a pie shaped black box. If the ohm reading is off post which one you have.

A '96 is probably equipped with a CVP (Continuously Variable Potentiometer) or POT BOX. They are adjustable (under passenger floorboard on frame) in case the rod has slipped on the shaft or something.

Oh, and if the need arises (eg. POT BOX toast) - David at Revolution can supply you with the parts & pieces to modify it to MCOR 4.

With those readings it does seem like something slipped mechanically inside and the pot is "sweeping" across the wrong area. Did you remove the cover and look inside? In any case - if its not an adjustment, or doesn't have a mechanical fix - contact Revolution Golf Cars to purchase a conversion package to MCOR4. Make sure to tell him your converting a POT BOX (they were only manufactured for about a year - so the conversion bits & pieces might not be typical of most other carts)...David will know.
