Should I buy a 2002 DS
I'm looking at buying a 2002 club car DS if it has lever shifter not the button. It's seems like a pretty good deal. But it's an hour away so I want to find out a little bit about it before I make the drive. It looks like there is two different types of drive systems for this year. I plan on a 6 inch lift and 22 or 23 inch tires. I know one type of drive system uses a speed magnet and new speed sensor to gain some speed. However I don't know if it's possible to speed up the other type. The guy said right now it will run 12 miles an hour. My easy go was stolen and it would do near 25 so 12 mph will just wont cut it. Thanks in advance for any help. No I don't have the serial number.new oem body and new rear seat 2015 batteries

It is a series cart, so no speed codes/magnets. Do you know if it's 36v or 48v? Series carts make great workhorses and lifted carts...

I had one similar to this and all I did was put high speed gears in it and got 25mph without doing anything else.😎

If the price is right go for it. I didn't know anything about these carts before researching them AFTER I bought a 2002 DS, which is a resistor cart. 12mph was it stock, but it served me well for a year hunting. I have recently put a small 3" lift and 20" tires and it will run 14-15 on flat ground. Batteries are getting weak though. Bout to convert it to a solid state and run 48volts to the 36 motor. It will absolultly do everything I want after that.
That being said, if you don't get it for a decent deal, not sure how happy you'll be with the resistor cart fro, what I know now. After my upgrades I'll still be well below the price of a pre setup rig. Cost and battery age seem to be the big deal |

It's 48v I never thought about it might be a resistor cart is that possible lol

If its 48v it's not a resistor. It would have a controller.
