About the motor pic.- The windings of the armature, in the 8-9 o'clock position, look dirty or burnt and expanded towards the field windings. Can you get a couple of sheets of printer paper between them?

For folks reading this in the future- read the Sticky above this section titled "Tech notes, Inside the solenoid"

Google it. Walmart was just a suggestion.

While you have the motor on the bench, do a continuity test from each terminal/post to the motor housing. You should have no continuity (infinity).

Then measure resistance on each of windings (field and sepex) and see what the results are. This might help tell if the coils have melted.

That motor needs to come apart to inspect the rest of the armature. It may be ok if it doesn't stink like burnt electrical.

Motor tests good. That picture was actually from when I took it off about a year ago because that armature winding hit one of the field windings and cut it into. That has been shaved down and the winding repaired.

I jumped a1 to f1 and a2 to f2. Then ran a 12 volt battery to a1 and a2. wheels turn smoothly.

I just ordered a alltrax 400 , HD selenoid, and the cable upgrades from scottyb. He shipped it out in a few hours. Awesome turnaround time.

I'm a little nervous about doing the complete rewire. Is it advisable to take off the body or just feed it through the holes?

Installed the Controller, Solenoid, and a 2 of the new wires last night. Cart has alot of torque.

When I was changing out the wires, there was two sets that had others attached. What do you normally do with these? See pictures.

Also, now the plastic box will not hold the new controller, do you guys normally leave the back of the plastic box off? I have taken it off for now.

You need to put a connector on that separate read wire and put it on with the new one. Same with the black one.
