Help needed please
Hi all,
Just got back from the beach and have an issue I need some guidance on please. We have a 2005 CC DS, stock, no changes made at all. We noticed a "stuttering" when slowly pressing the go pedal that goes away once we are up to speed. If I place my hand on the tire I can feel "spinning" and feel the same thing on the motor and once I get about 1/2 pedal we start going and can maintain speed without issue. Im leaning towards the transaxle? I changed the oil today and that didn't solve the issue. I took out about 1/2 quart of oil but it took 1 quart to fill it back up to the bottom of the fill hole. Is that right? Question is am I looking at a new transaxle?, rebuild?, buy new?. Will it hurt anything to drive it around? We have a parade we are entered in next week and we really want to attend. Thanks as always for the help! John |

Re: Help needed please
First of all you overfilled it. I believe it only uses 22oz. Take the overflow plug out and drain some out.

Re: Help needed please
Check all your cable connections, you may have a loose connection that is not allowing full power to the motor.

It's weird you can feel the motor start to slowly spool up then it starts to feel like it's trying to engage the gears and it will start to roll. If I give it more pedal it will run fine and maintain speeds on gravel roads. I have an in dash meter on it and it dips normally with use. |

Re: Help needed please
This sounds like an MCOR issue that is common in the 2005 Precedent models.
Not sure about the DS that year, but the MCOR issue would create jumping at initial acceleration and then standard acceleration when pedal, pressed fully or up to speed. Just something to think about. |

I'm new at this so go easy.......would a bad MCOR cause what feels like gears not engaging? I can feel the motor turning at slight pedal push and I can feel the rotational vibration in the tire almost like the shaft is stripped? Does that make sence, it's hard to describe. |

Jack up cart. Turn wheels by hand. You should feel the motor and gears. You will be able to tell a lot.

Re: Help needed please
If you lift rear end, turn one wheel. The opposite wheel should turn in the opposite direction IIRC on that gearbox. If only one wheel turns, or if there feels like zero resistance to the turning, you might have a gear issue.
Also, check the fluid for metal flake. Lots of metal will be indicator of excessive wear. |
