Default 48v battery questions

first time posting here. just picked up a nice 48v ds. currently i have a 36v resistor cart that is really frickin roached and beat up. last year i purchased 6 new 6v batteries for the old cart. the 48v needs new batteries since they all froze and split. ive seen mixed feelings on what i wanna do but any opinions are helpful. can i take my 6v batteries and put them in the 48? i have 2 brand new 12v optima blue top marine 31 class batteries that are like 1200cca. can i put the 2 12v batteries in parallel then in series in the system to make 48? the obc has already been bypassed an i have to buy a charger. ive seen people do all kinds of crazy stuff before, i know it will work but will it be reliable and will it take out my newer 6v batteries?

Welcome to the forum
It will work as in- it will move because it is 48v but ....... it will be a disaster for all the batteries involved. Your best bet is to buy 2 more used 6v and stick them in the rear bagwell. Run 8/6v

What do you mean as far as disaster for other batteries, like discharge rate and charging?

All I needed to hear, thank you for your input, any thoughts on a good charger for it. I got one off of eBay for my 36 and it actually works really good. Any thoughts on the 48v

17 Amp DPI Accusense for Non-OBC use... If your cart has an OBC bypass it and be done with the troublesome bugger; is very easy to do....
