Default 2003 CC DS IQ controller question

Need some assistance with finding a replacement controller for a friend of mines 2003 CC DS IQ that we just did the Bandit upgrade to and apparently fried the controller.

While connecting the cables to the motor (with batteries unhooked) apparently the F2 and A2 cables were touching. After getting everything back together we connected the batteries back up and flipped the Run/Tow switch to run and sparks blew out of the dash. I guess the ground to the stereo and 12v plug got powered and blew the 12v plug and maybe the stereo.

We unhooked that stuff and now the solenoid clicks when we pushed the gas pedal but no motion. After contacting Robby he stated that we got a dead short which now he will need a new controller and maybe some other stuff but starting with the controller.

All that being said he is now thinking about an upgraded controller. Most likely just a 400 Alltrax that is a plug and play set-up. The problem I'm having is the cart is a 2003 (s/n AQ0327) but the controller that is on it looks exactly like the 2004 and up so is it possible the used the newer controller on later model 2003's? I've been looking at different sites and all of them say this controller is on the 2004 and up Serpex carts but his is clearly a 2003.

Is there any advice for a plug and play controller that he is not needing a lot more torque and will have plenty of speed with the bandit motor but wants a controller to compliment the motor. Sorry its a long post but wanted to give enough background to understand the issue. Please help!

Don't worry about the Year, the cart S/N is for an IQ controller.

Check the site sponsors for the Alltrax XCT models for Club Car IQ.

Just to advise you Alltrax isn't plug and play. If you want PnP go with a Curtis. Either stock or an upgraded version. PS buy it from a site sponsor if you can.

On the other hand, Curtis has a 1 yr warranty opposed to Alltrax 2 yr warranty. And Curtis has no user programming or Free program software with usb programming and personality switching like Alltrax does but - it will plug in without switching the 2 wire ends like that nasty Alltrax XCT control

I contacted an Alltrax dealer and he stated it was a plug and go system but when he orders it from Alltrax he will have to ensure they know its for a bandit motor upgrade cart. Supposedly Alltrax has been working on some programming options so that they can ship it already done and ready to go in the cart. (that's what he said!)

He is now looking at just doing the 300 amp since he will not really need anything more than a stock one so that he can avoid replacing the solenoid and cables.
