Light kit fuse - what size?

My 07 came with a light kit installed and I think it's a cheapo one but has gotten the job done. I've been having some issues with the switch lately where I have to jiggle it to get the lights to stay on. Now, though, I think the fuse has been blown. The fuse block on my kit (where the light blue wire feeds in and back out) appears to be a sealed plastic box with line in and load out terminals sticking out of it. But I can't get into it to check or change the fuse. When I hook my meter up to the line in side, I get 12v. When I hook up to the load out side, I get nothing. So, I assume the fuse is blown and I need to just replace it with a generic inline fuse block. What size fuse should I use? I googled and found 1 answer to the question but not a lot of context. The answer was 10a. Can anyone confirm?

10 amp should work, but no larger than 15 amp or you risk warming/melting the wiring.

Fuses are sized according to the size of the wire used not necessarily according to the size of the load ie... a 5 amp lighting load on 14 awg wire can be sized to 15a. wire to fuse sizes are as follows 14 awg wire is 15A, 12 awg wire is 20A, and 10awg is 30A.

My '96 used a "factory" fuse block with 3 separate 20A fuses in front of the battery pack - I relocated the feed to use my voltage reducer for the 12v source with a single 15A fuse leading to the 3 x 20A fuse block - it powers the headlights, turn signals, brake/tail lights and horn. So 15A should be more than fine, 10A may do the job if running less accessories. If you are looking for a more specific calculation - add up the maximum wattage pull at any time and convert to AMPs.

Context?---
The purpose of any fuse is to protect the wiring from meltdown. The manufacturer isn't going to provide undersized wire for a given load. Conversely, they're not going the spent the extra money for oversized wire either.

So the key to the proper size fuse for any circuit is the smallest gage wire in that circuit.

I put on an inline mini fuse holder with rubber cover and a 15a mini fuse. Also swapped out my plunger switch for a black plastic duck bill style toggle. All works and looks good.
