Default 2005 club car motor upgrade.

I am looking at up grading the motor on my 05 club car. Cartszone.com has a replacement motor 8 hp. Is says it's a factory replacement. Would I notice a difference just replacing the motor and leaving the controller stock?

If replacing the stock 3.5 hp motor with 8 hp motor the stock controller will be a limiting factor.
The design engineers do not put in bigger cables or solenoid or controls than needed and all these components are match up. So replacing the motor with one that produces 2.3 times as much power as the original requires other upgrades to the amperage delivery system.

What other information do u need? Jjance.
scottyb would I have to change everything?
I'm trying to get a idea of a price to get more power and torque. My idea was to replace the motor thin the controller. I'm going to get bigger battery wires before I get the motor and controller.

In my experience the motor comes last. Everything in the system allows amperage to the motor.
The system does not send amperage to the motor.
The system allows the motor to draw X amount of amperage.
Amperage is important because that is what the motor consumes and the charger puts back into the batteries.

Anyway the stock motor will make more power if you allow it to draw more amperage. That is why the controller upgrade is so popular and why it is done before the motor. Getting a bigger motor and a controller and cables later is putting the cart before the horse

What kind of cart is it? DS or Precedent
What are you going to use it for? Hunting/offroad/pulling stumps. Or cruising the neighbor.
Do you have lot of hills or flat land?

Also keep in mind that the 500a controller isn't going to push anymore current through that stock motor than your stock controller can. Except in a stall condition.

With that usage I'd say that you won't be happy until you replaced both the motor and the controller. In no particular order. Be sure it's a torque motor.
