MT320-07 16 Spline Motor 1981 Club Car

Hi Everyone,
I am currently in progress of building a PWM Mosfet controller for my golf cart and was wondering if anyone could give me a bit of background on this golf cart motor. It appears its a Series 2HP motor at 2.0KW. I have not physically checked but after reading it seems that its a 16 Spline Male. What are my options for changing the motor. Is it possible to change the female Spline in the Axle without anything crazy? Or is there a 3-4HP motor that is 36V 16 Spline?

don't know for sure but I have an 83 ds and was talking to scottyb about an upgrade and he stated there isn't much out there in terms of motors....you can upgrade to solid state but I believe most if not all of the aftermarket motors are a different spline count and also female. hopefully he will chime in and correct me if i'm wrong but he will get you going in the right direction.
