Default 1985 Club Car Battery Mod

Does anyone know if you can run a 6x9 volt- 36 volt system on three 12 volt deep cycle batteries? I am just trying to find the cheapest way to get new batteries without buying 6, 9ners..

Stock is six 6 volters.... Nothing comes close to delivering the amps needed to run an electric GC like GC batteries.... you can try some other type but you will not get the same results and the demand will kill them off in a short while...That is why they make GC batteries. Good Luck

you don't get the amps from any other battery than golf cart batteries that you need to drive the cart to its best performance

There was one member..... who said he had good results running on three 12 volt batteries. He said the cart didn't go as far as the stock carts and that the batteries died out completely in about 6 months of use... When we asked him how that could possibly pencil out financially... He finally revealed that he was getting the batteries from work for free..... So if you got a deal like that well, it works.

Since lead acid batteries cannot be shipped without a Hazmat license and permit..... you have to find your best deal locally.....
