Xct500 precedent mot-a2 Issues
Sunday I installed the xct500 and new solenoid with the stock club car precedent excel motor. It was preprogrammed for the mot-a2. The unit powered on and ran fine. I used to get 19mph on the stock Curtis controller (unlocked) and now I got 16 max but it worked.
So Tonight I swapped the Admiral MOT-A2 (and kept the f1&f2 swapped as they were on the original).... And nothing impressive happened. It powers on, you can hear the solenoid clicking when you apply to the accelerator (just as yesterday). Reverse buzzer comes on in reverse. It moves 1/16 of a inch in forward or reverse. It's like a little tap tap tap as it tries to go forward or reverse. Like when you try to claim a speed bump without enough gas, just bumps forward and rolls back. I tried all the ranges of the accelerator, slow, fast, held just after the click no difference. Once in reverse something happened and I got the wheels to do a burn out for a split second. Then there was all kinds of horn and buzzer clicks. Turned it off and back on and back to the 1/16 of a inch of motion. Pushed the cart forward and back while in gear and accelerator pushed and the motor turned and the horn buzzer sounded like it did before. Ideas? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Also read the shudder posts on the battery issues. I drove the cart onto the ramp to do the work. It worked fine a hour ago. Also plugged it into the charger and it is charging on the Eric system like normal.

What codes are you getting from the controller LED ? What color flashes and how many.

It's buried by the back plastic cover. I'm a little afraid to get under it while it's on.
I was thinking of doing the monitor function? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It would be a good idea to put the cart rear up in the air now so nothing gets hurt.
PS If you do the monitor you can check the throttle set up and tell me what it's set for? And if it is going to 100% when you press the go pedal. |

Re: Xct500 precedent mot-a2 Issues
Have you spliced the speed sensor wires for the new motor into the Ezgo harness?
Yes the usb will power the controller up and you can check a few things. Have you connected the new motor pigtail yet? If not - that's probably the trouble. You can select do not monitor speed in the software and it will run without it but you are giving up a lot of the functions that make this controller great. |

Didn't I read on a previous post that you did not install the wire harness I sold you? I spoke with an engineer at club car before I determined that you needed to swap the harness. The pin orientation on your white excel controller is different than the grey excel controllers that the XCT is intended to replace. I would bet this is the root of your problem.

Thank you,
I talked to our club car rep here and alltrax and they swore up and down it would work without replacing the wiring harness. I.e. Plug and play. Which it was as of yesterday. Xct500 and new solenoid / cables and stock motor and it all worked fine and smooth. Eric charger charged pack just fine etc... This was the motor that was dropped before it was delivered and had the bent support arm. I'm afraid this is the root of the issue. To be safe this morning I put the old motor (stock) back in and it all worked nice and smoothly (I didn't change the field map back). Thank makes me think the issue is motor related not cable etc. I'll run the monitor function on the xct tonight to see what it spits out. Everyone once in a while in reverse only it takes off, tires chirp burn out etc. Forward it bumps along oddly 1/16 of a inch at a time. This also makes me think it's a motor issue not controller / solenoid / cables / main wiring harness. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'll put the new motor back in and check the speed sensor plug. The colors of the wires are different. Any idea which wires are supposed to line up with which wires?

Re: Xct500 precedent mot-a2 Issues
You really need to see the controller LED. Typically carts that bump 1/16 inch are not getting power through the solenoid, the control is precharged but as soon as you ask it to go it runs out of power. Hence the bump of travel. I'm willing to bet the solenoid is not clicking when you try to go?
