1986 club not charging
My 36 volt club cars charger will not turn on when I plug into the charging port. If I test the batteries thru the port they show 36 volts but when I take it for a ride they die out like dead batteries that need to be charged but the charger will not turn on. I checked the charger on another cart and it works fine. Batteries are about 5 years old and test weak but none are shorted. Where do I start or are my batteries just shot?

Re: 1986 club not charging
You checked the charger on another cart, was in plugged into the same AC plug?
Also tug your wires from charge port and make sure they have good connection on batteries. You can read voltage with just one strand of small wire connected, but that would not be enough the charge the batteries. |

Re: 1986 club not charging
You know the charger works, so its in the cart. 36 volt stuff is easy as its only 2 wires. Check the red wire or the black wire, one of them is not connected.
