Default Precedent steering wheel removal

Have a 15 precedent excel fleet car and the score card cover plate is held on by 2 hex screws that none of my sockets can fit well enough / to wide for the hole (insert joke here)...

Anyone know the size so I can run to depot and pick something up?

I have a few sockets that I have (over the years) chucked up in a drill and run against the grinding wheel or sanding belt until they fit similar situations.

Just to take a WAG from the picture I'm going to say 1/4" drive, Deep Socket, 10 mm Head...

I bought a 5/16" nut-driver from harbor freight and took it to the grinding wheel just for this purpose. It works perfectly.

It's a #12-16 X 0.50 so 5/16 makes sense... Now to find someone to grind down a bit for me

Thanks as usual Td, local shop ground it down, snug but works perfectly.

Good deal. Grind it some more and it won't be snug. The walls on my nut driver are paper thin.
