I'm thinking the planets are out of phase with stars and moon.

I'll check that tonight.

Given the fact that our govt. wants this paint traced so that it doesn't end up in a sewer $1K is cheep. 5 hr prep. (just a guess) @ $20.00 hr, 3 hr paint, 2 hr clear coat. Then comes the fixed overhead that Mike mentioned, and the dirty word PROFIT. Not to mention if you have benifits on your workers.

I can shoot paint but when you get into what is in a gc body hire it done. Forget where but saw new CC bodies molded in color for around 4 bills, that was a year ago so could see what is out there that way, live with a non custom color but would be new paint.

I'd like to know who warned him a month ago... and why didn't he listen. Guess he didn't like what he heard then either. Apparently he only wants to hear what HE want to hear.

I weighed the paint vs molded color thing and given what I do with my cart opted to spend the $400 for the molded color and go with custom graphics. Altogether I've got $650 in the body without any custom painting, so I can't really see where $800 to $1000 is out of line for the kind of work Deckers does.
